How Remote Probes Work
We have integrated the functionality of IPCheck Server Monitor into its successor product PRTG Network Monitor. The upgrade is free for customers with an active maintenance plan (please download the new installer in our updates center).
When purchasing IPCheck Server Monitor you have the possibility to install remote probes on servers in different locations. The remote probes gather the information and send it to the central monitoring instance. The remote probe installer can be downloaded for free at http://www.paessler.com/ipcheck/download
How To Monitor Remote Offices With IPCheck
To achieve multi location monitoring Remote Probes can be installed on other machines that can reside in- or outside the local LAN. The IPCheck server triggers a monitoring request through the Remote Probe which in return sends back the results of each monitoring request to the central IPCheck server.
